Hello and welcome! This time around I cover Iron Maidens "The number of the Beast"... A fitting number for Halloween, don't you think? Indeed it is! This clip features a backing track of the song done by Iron Maiden but without the rhythm and lead tracks...soooo, i got to do the rhythm track, and when the lead parts come up a backing rhythm tracks kick in so i can do the leads...pretty cool huh? i hope you enjoy this clip! I had a great time putting it together for you. i must admit it was very difficult to record this from a volume standpoint. I was either too loud or not loud enough...i think i nailed it....you tell me!Also, for those who wish to know...This is my setup... I will be heading out for the NAMM Show in Annahiem, CA this January and will be checking out some new gear and meeting some great musicians and seeing some great performances! It will be exciting and Ill post some video of my trip for you guys to check out.
I will be posting no more free videos of guitar lessons to YouTube because I will have my Guitar Sherpa room at TrueFire.com up and running for personal one to one lessons and interactive study. The room will be ready to launch in Janaury - the monthly tuition will be a one price platform which will be affordable for just about everyone!
New lessons will be posted at my site joepinnavaia.com on the topics of developing a practice schedule and creating arpeggios with the Modes.

Dave here with an original piece written for a backing track I found. Dedicated to the possibly earth like planet Gliese 581g. I'm playing my Fender American Vintage 70's series strat . I just had Dimarzio Paul Gilbert Injector pickups installed...Neck and bridge. In the middle is Dimarzio Area 67. This is Paul Gilberts current pickup layout. I love the it way sounds! Review and photos: www.truthinshredding.com Animals as Leaders is an American, Washington, DC--based instrumental progressive metal band, formed by guitarist Tosin Abasi in 2007 which now includes guitarist Javier Reyes and drummer Navene Koperweis. The self-titled debut album was released in April 2009 by Prosthetic Records. Tosin Abasi and Javier Reyes are also members of the supergroup TRAM alongside former The Mars Volta wind instrumentalist Adrian Terrazas and Suicidal Tendencies drummer Eric Moore. The band announced that their new album entitled Weightless would be released on November 8th, 2011 in the US, November 4th in Europe, and November 7th in the UK Tosin Abasi Javier Reyes Navene Koperweis So what was the show like? Well it was a last minute affair, never enough time to get everything done on time. I got my G+ reminder and remember... hey, I should have got my tickets for the show... but you know what time is and how is slips through your hand like water. So I got a last minute ticket on line. Review and photos: www.truthinshredding.com Animals as Leaders is an American, Washington, DC--based instrumental progressive metal band, formed by guitarist Tosin Abasi in 2007 which now includes guitarist Javier Reyes and drummer Navene Koperweis. The self-titled debut album was released in April 2009 by Prosthetic Records. Tosin Abasi and Javier Reyes are also members of the supergroup TRAM alongside former The Mars Volta wind instrumentalist Adrian Terrazas and Suicidal Tendencies drummer Eric Moore. The band announced that their new album entitled Weightless would be released on November 8th, 2011 in the US, November 4th in Europe, and November 7th in the UK Tosin Abasi Javier Reyes Navene Koperweis So what was the show like? Well it was a last minute affair, never enough time to get everything done on time. Fabrizio Leo www.fabrizioleo.com played on the FGN (FUJIGEN) guitars stand, shared with TRex pedals. It was a close call because Bicio only had a CD for backing tracks... thinking quickly I dug into my photo and media gear case and dragged out my netbook...only to realise it does not have a CD player!! Fortunately the guys from FGN got a CD player from their hotel room. Unfortuneately for us, some no name guitar player on another stand took offence and decided that he need to play louder to make people come to see his guitar stand. So it was difficult for Bicio to hear what he was playing. I really liked the guy, a genuine down to earth person... I love his playing too, classic super Italian class, can't wait to see him play again. Fabrizio Leo is working on his new CD... more details when I get them.

This clip features a backing track of the song done by Iron Maiden but without the rhythm and lead tracks...soooo, i got to do the rhythm track, and when the lead parts come up a backing rhythm tracks kick in so i can do the leads...pretty cool huh? i hope you enjoy this clip! I had a great time putting it together for you. i must admit it was very difficult to record this from a volume standpoint. Dave here with another original piece to a backing track...Song for Nia. This backing track gave me a lot of problems early on and I had no idea what to do with it until one night in mid January when it came to me. Then the piece wrote itself...I hope you enjoy it as much as I do playing it! The backing sounds similar to the Def Leppard song Love Bites although I'm not a huge fan of the band. This piece features my 2000 Gibson 1959 re-issue Les Paul guitar. I played through my Digitech 2120 guitar processor powered by a Mesa Boogie 20 watt per channel stereo power amp. Dimitar Nalbantov: Well now, as I work through the production and post-production for my next CD, get the photography and the design worked through, test out some videos and get a promotional things. I am keeping my friends informed on progress ? but I don?t think you are getting these updates. Also, the drummer from my 1st debut album "Universe" John Wooten will work with me again and he already started to track and mix his drum tracks for the album!!!

Review and photos: www.truthinshredding.com Animals as Leaders is an American, Washington, DC--based instrumental progressive metal band, formed by guitarist Tosin Abasi in 2007 which now includes guitarist Javier Reyes and drummer Navene Koperweis. The self-titled debut album was released in April 2009 by Prosthetic Records. Tosin Abasi and Javier Reyes are also members of the supergroup TRAM alongside former The Mars Volta wind instrumentalist Adrian Terrazas and Suicidal Tendencies drummer Eric Moore. The band announced that their new album entitled Weightless would be released on November 8th, 2011 in the US, November 4th in Europe, and November 7th in the UK Tosin Abasi Javier Reyes Navene Koperweis So what was the show like? Well it was a last minute affair, never enough time to get everything done on time. I got my G+ reminder and remember... hey, I should have got my tickets for the show... but you know what time is and how is slips through your hand like water. So I got a last minute ticket on line. The band are currently touring as a support act, but when you get to the show it's clear that the fans are here to see and hear Tosin Abasi...

Daves original Instrumental piece to the Sad Melody backing track
Dave here with another clip.This backing track is called Sad Melody. I came up with the lines you hear me playing. I used the Jackson Soloist for this because I wanted the use of the Floyd Rose bar for accents. I may do this track again using a Les Paul just for the hell of it. I was under the gun to get this up as i've been crazy at work and just to tired to play late at nite (which is when I record my clips)...I think I could have done it better given more time and relaxed circumstances...anyway for better or worse this my last clip for 2009...more to come in 2010~ Also check out my buddy Popstotexas here on YouTube...listen to his killer take on this backing track as a Tribute to the Great Les Paul who we sadly lost earlier this year....It's a killer!Also, for those who wish to know...This is my setup... I play through a Digitech 2120 guitar processor...It's powered by a 50 watt Mesa Boogie stereo power amp... It all goes through 2 Marshall 4x12 cabinets in stereo... I also sometimes use a Steve Vai Bad Horsie Wah Wah pedal... I Play and love D'Addario XL guitar strings, the gauge is 10 through 46 (EXL110),,, I also use and LOVE V-Picks guitar picks...I use the "small pointed Lite" model.... Thats my story, and i'm sticken' to it...
