What is Normalizer 2?It?s actually a 51 min drum solo I did (tried to do it as musical as possible) and I?m inviting artists to write and record music to it! ??Mike Keneally, Trey Gunn, Alex Machacek, John Czajkowski, Jason Sadites, Mario Brinkmann, Phi Yaan-Zek and myself teamed up to deliver our ?pizza-toppings? to the solo drums. Everyone of us works separately on our own version, nobody is allowed to listen to each others separate approach during the writing process! It?s a huge challenge and I?m overexcited to hear how different each artist?s composition will sound in the end, based and written to that same drum solo. ?..it was quiet exciting to play a 51 min drum solo I must say. I played it non-stop and the challenge was to keep it interesting and to see how far I can take it musically and technically. I always record and rehearse solos as part of my practice routine. But this one was somehow special and in no time I found myself surrounded with all these great players wanting to contribute music to it.

To progress, to find new challenges and outlets for his or her talents. Swedish guitarist Stefan Lindholm (Phenomena, Tony Martin) has now reached such a defining moment in his career. As the founder and musical backbone of Vindictiv, he's responsible for some of the most exquisite examples of contemporary neoclassical metal. However, the Stockholmian constellation's newest effort Cage of Infinity marks a certain departure from the progressive leanings of their two previous albums, Vindictiv (2008) and Ground Zero (2009). This time around, Vindictiv have challenged themselves to get their point across not through complexity, but through forthrightness.? I'm no longer the same person as I used to be, so now I'm going for a simpler approach, more in your face, Stefan Lindholm explains. Cage of Infinity definitely contains a lot of immediate hooks and choruses. At the same time, I think it just may be more metallic than previously. Possibly a tad Judas Priest-ish, but I'll leave that for the listener to decide. Still, it's unmistakably Vindictiv. It is indeed, albeit a new and exciting Vindictiv. Stefan's guitar playing is as stellar as ever and the core of the band is intact, featuring the exceptional talents of keyboard player Pontus Larsson and bassist Nalle P�hlsson (Therion, Treat, Last Autumn's Dream). There are, however, two new faces to the lineup. Drummer Henrik Hedman is an excellent addition to the Vindictiv family tree, but the man with the biggest shoes to fill is undoubtedly the new lead singer. Who has dared to accept the torch passed on by legendary journeyman G�ran Edman (Yngwie Malmsteen, Glory, John Norum)?The answer is: Marco Sandron, the Italian vocalist from multinational power metal sensations Eden's Curse. A man whose vocal skills have turned an apparent suicide mission into a raging triumph. Marco's performances on Cage of Infinity are nothing short of spectacular, comparable even to the great J�rn Lande and marking the beginning of a new era. Vindictiv has turned over a new leaf, a more predominantly song-based one, without sacrificing any of their defining characteristics. Including the blistering guitar solos, perennial favorites of shredding enthusiasts.? I made an effort to make the album cohesive, but as a notorious shredder I couldn't restrain myself completely, laughs Stefan. Which of course he shouldn't. Arrow Video have today confirmed that the worldwide Blu-ray & DVD premiere of Mario Bava?s horror classic ?BLACK SABBATH? has been delayed by 2 weeks due to further picture and audio restoration requirements. It will now be released on Monday May 13th 2013.
The deluxe edition of ?BLACK SABBATH? will be worth the wait ? it features both the original Italian version of the film and the re-edited, re-dubbed and re-scored American version, together and fully restored for the first time anywhere in the world, along with a host of special features, bonus material and exclusive artwork.
By way of an apology, and to further whet fans? appetites for what is one of the most anticipated horror releases of 2013, Arrow have uploaded an extract from one of the newly produced special features included on the release. The below clip, entitled ?Twice The Fear? is part of a brand new 30-minute exploration into the differences between the Italian and American versions of the film.

Gretchen Menn, famed for her solo guitar work and as lead guitar player for all girl band "Zepparella", has a new guitar and it's a Sadowsky nylon string electric to add some more flavour to her own classical style pieces.
Gretchen Menn: "Roger Sadowsky sent me one to try out, and I fell in love. It's unlike anything else I have, and is great for playing classical style pieces within a rock show. It's an amazing, unique instrument."
